PRAXIS 2004 – 2008 provides a fascinating view into the Danish artist Morten Stræde’s production over a number of years. The embedded themes span sculpture, artistic decorating assignments in public and private buildings, churches, and larger coherent work in the public space. The book documents this rich practice putting realized projects next to proposed projects in architecture competitions, sketches and exhibitions.

Stræde’s idea of ‘praxis’ encompasses an ongoing reflection on the societal aspects of the sculpture and art at large constantly requiring new, critical artistic strategies. Often his work comes into being through dialogues and collaboration with others. The book thus contains contributions from invited authors: Anne-Mette Gjeraa, Mikkel Bogh, and Frederik Tygstrup.
